Coffee Blends for Espresso Machine
Four kinds of coffee drinker walk into a shop. One knows the farm they want. One wants something reliable for the espresso machine every morning. One wants the cup to taste like dessert. One has no idea and would like to be told.
This page is built for all four. Everything here is roasted in Belgium by our roastery Coffeeroots, sold from 50 g, and ground to your brewing method before it is packed.
Prices start at AED 12.

Single-origin: coffee that tastes of a place
A single-origin coffee comes from one country, usually one region, often one farm. That traceability is the point. It is why a Kenyan and a Honduran taste nothing alike even at the same roast level.
| Coffee | Origin | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Honduras Finca Monte Christo | Honduras, 100% Arabica, medium roast. Chocolate, dried fruit and dark berries, with a long wine-like finish. | AED 14 |
| India Malabar | India. One of the more affordable ways into single-origin. | AED 16 |
| Congo Organic | Democratic Republic of the Congo, organic. | AED 18 |
| Guatemala Huehuetenango Bio | Guatemala, organic certified. | AED 19 |
| Rwanda Des Mamas | Red bourbon Arabica grown at 1,450 to 1,500 m. Fruity and rounded. | AED 19 |
| Ethiopia Mocca Harrar Mesela | Ethiopia, the origin country of coffee itself. | AED 23 |
| Kenya AA Superstar | Kenya, 100% Arabica, medium roast. The AA grade marks the largest, highest quality beans. | AED 33 |

Specialty: the 80 point line
Specialty is not a marketing word. It is a score. Coffee assessed at 80 points or more out of 100 on the Specialty Coffee Association scale earns specialty status, and coffees above 90 points are considered outstanding.
What that score reflects is work done long before roasting. Cherries are hand-picked at ripeness, and damaged, green or unripe beans are rejected rather than blended away. Origin is documented down to the region and often the farm.
Our specialty shelf runs from Peru Organic at AED 17 up to Wild Kopi Luwak at AED 159, which is certified by the Gayo Coffee Protection Society. In between sit some genuinely rare lots: Jamaica Blue Mountain at AED 89, Hawaii Kona at AED 89, and Saint Helena at AED 150, an unusual coffee with cumin and dark chocolate notes and a long, wine-like aftertaste.
The 50 g size matters most here. It lets you drink a AED 89 coffee without buying a AED 89 bag of it.
Blends: built for the machine, not the cupping table
A single-origin is interesting. A blend is dependable, which is a different and equally valuable thing when you are making four espressos before 9am.
Blends are assembled so the components cover each other: body from one bean, sweetness from another, crema from a third. Espresso Major is a clear example, built from Brazilian and Salvadoran Arabica with Vietnamese and Indian Robusta.
- Espresso Crema at AED 12, the most affordable coffee in the catalogue and available up to 1 kg.
- Barista Coffee Blend at AED 15.
- Blend Energy and Espresso Gourmets Choice at AED 16.
- Espresso Lucca at AED 17 and Espresso Major at AED 18.
- Central America Decaf at AED 19, for evenings.
See them all on Cantata espresso coffee blends page.

Flavoured: aroma, not sugar
Our flavoured beans are built on 100% Arabica sourced mainly from Colombia and Brazil, with a few flavours built on Indonesian Robusta. Aroma is introduced immediately after roasting, while the beans are still hot and their pores are open, then sealed in as the beans cool.
The practical result is a bean that stays dry on the surface rather than oily. It will not gum up a grinder, and it works in an espresso machine, which ordinary oily flavoured beans do not. Every flavoured coffee we sell is roasted in Belgium, contains no sugar and no artificial additives, and is Halal certified.
Prices start at AED 17, with 1 kg available on most lines. Recent additions include Apple Tonka, Bitter Orange, Buttercream and Blackberry Yoghurt Guava. Longer standing favourites include Belgian Waffle, Amaretto, Cappuccino and Bounty.
The full range is on the Cantata flavored coffee beans page. The same flavour work is also available as capsules for Nespresso and instant coffee.
Choosing your grind
Every coffee on this page is sold as whole beans or ground to order. Choose at checkout and we grind it when we pack it.
| Your equipment | Choose | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Espresso machine | Ground for Espresso Machine | Fine grind, for a short extraction under pressure. |
| Moka pot | Ground For Moka Pot | Slightly coarser than espresso. Too fine and the pot stalls. |
| French press | Ground for French Press | Coarse, so the mesh holds the grounds back instead of letting silt through. |
| V60 or pour-over | Ground for V60 | Medium grind. See our V60 page for the full method. |
| Turkish coffee pot | Ground for Turkish Coffee | The finest setting, close to powder. |
| Your own grinder | Whole Beans | Grinding per brew keeps aroma intact for far longer. |
If you grind at home, our coffee accessories range covers grinders, filters and brewers.
Keeping beans fresh in this climate
Dubai humidity is harder on coffee than most places, and the fixes are simple.
- Keep beans airtight, away from light and heat. A storage box does the job better than the bag clip.
- Do not refrigerate. Condensation ruins beans and they absorb surrounding odours.
- Buy whole and grind per brew where you can. Ground coffee loses its top notes within days.
- Order smaller and more often rather than stockpiling a kilo you will drink over four months.
