Loose leaf tea needs room to move. Whole leaves swell to several times their dry volume, and anything that pins them in place strips out the aroma you paid for. Everything in this section is chosen with that one principle in mind, from disposable paper filters at AED 19 a box to infusion mugs and travel flasks. Whether you are brewing a single cup of green tea at your desk or a full pot of herbal blend for the family, there is a straightforward way to do it well.

Paper Tea Filters

Paper Tea Filters for Loose Leaf

Paper filters are the simplest entry point into loose leaf. You spoon leaves in, brew, then throw the filter away with nothing to scrub. They are also the most forgiving option for beginners, because the paper is generous enough that leaves expand freely.

A box of 100 at AED 19 works out at under 20 fils per cup, which is why these are the item regular loose leaf drinkers reorder most often. They are also the reason plenty of customers move away from tea bags without giving up the convenience that made bags appealing.

Stainless Steel Tea Infusers

For daily use, a reusable infuser costs less over time and produces no waste. Our deep stainless steel infuser (AED 65) has the depth that matters: shallow ball strainers squeeze leaves into a tight sphere where water cannot circulate, while a deep basket lets them open properly. That is essential for a large leaf oolong, which can triple in volume. Steel is also flavour neutral, so a smoky black tea in the morning leaves nothing behind for a delicate white tea in the afternoon. Rinse it under hot water straight after use and stains will not set.

Infusion Mugs: Brew and Drink in One Vessel

An infusion mug combines cup, strainer and lid. You brew, lift the basket out when the time is up, and the lid doubles as a rest for the wet strainer. It is the most practical setup for an office desk.

Infusion Mug Daisy 350ml in light blue or yellow, AED 129.

Infusion Mug Linnea in porcelain, 350ml, AED 129.

Removing the basket at the right moment is the part people skip. Leaves left sitting in hot water keep extracting tannins and the second half of the mug turns astringent. The wider range of shapes and materials sits on our mugs and cups page.

Cantata Black Tea In Dubai

Tea on the Move

The Eucalyptus infuser bottle and its Amami counterpart (400ml glass, AED 169) are double walled with a neoprene sleeve, so the drink stays hot while the outside stays comfortable to hold, and the two piece stainless steel strainer lifts out cleanly. The Daisy thermos (500ml, AED 190) covers longer days away from the kettle, and the full flask range has more colours. Both types are useful year round in the UAE, where an air conditioned office and 45 degree heat outside make a fixed temperature drink surprisingly welcome.

Teapots for Sharing

The Teapot Elegante in borosilicate glass (800ml, AED 165) pours three to four cups and lets you watch the colour develop, which is a practical way to judge when a delicate green tea is ready rather than relying on a timer alone. See glass and cast iron options together on the teapots and carafes page.

Water Temperature and Steeping Time

Boiling water suits some teas and destroys others. Green and white leaves scorch above roughly 85 degrees and turn bitter. Use this as a starting point, then adjust to taste.

As a general ratio, use around 2 to 3 grams of leaf per 200ml of water and adjust from there. Bagged tea trains people to think one portion equals one cup, but loose leaf grades vary enormously in density, so a large leaf pu erh takes up far more space than the same weight of broken black tea. Caffeine free options such as rooibos are the most forgiving of all, since a long steep does not turn them bitter.
