Is there seating, or is it takeaway only?

There is a seating area in the boutique. It is a small space rather than a large cafe, so it suits a quiet coffee, a conversation, or an hour with a book better than a big group.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Sunday, 08:30 to 21:30.

Do you do pour-over coffee?

Yes. Our baristas brew V60 to a weighed recipe: 20 g of coffee to 200 to 250 ml of water at 90 to 93 degrees, poured in stages. Ask what is on the brew bar when you arrive.

Can I buy the beans you brew with?

Yes, and that is rather the point. Everything served at the counter is sold by weight in the same room, whole or ground to your method.

We serve cookies alongside the drinks. We are a tea and coffee house rather than a restaurant, so the menu is focused on what is in the cup.

Do you have caffeine-free options?

Yes. The Babyccino is warm frothed milk with no coffee, and the boutique carries a wide range of caffeine-free herbal teas, rooibos and fruit infusions that the team can brew or bag for you.

Our Cafe in Al Barsha 1

Most cafes buy their coffee from someone else. We are the someone else.

The cafe sits inside our tea and coffee boutique in Al Barsha 1, surrounded by the shelves it draws from. The beans in your cup are the beans in the bags behind you, sold by weight, ground to order. You can drink a coffee, decide you want it at home, and walk out with 250 g of it ten minutes later. That is the whole idea.

We treat filter coffee as the main event

There is a pour-over station here, and it is not decoration. Our baristas weigh the coffee, use water at 90 to 93 degrees, and pour in stages rather than flooding the bed. Twenty grams of coffee to 200 or 250 ml of water. The same numbers every time, because that is what makes a cup repeatable.

The V60 is an unforgiving method. Water passes through the grounds in a thin, even stream, so the cup is clean and fully readable. Every note in the bean comes through, and so does every flaw. An espresso machine can bulldoze a mediocre coffee into something drinkable. A V60 will not do that for you, which is exactly why we put it at the centre of the menu rather than treating it as a polite alternative to a cappuccino.

It is a drinks menu, and deliberately so. We are a tea and coffee shop with a counter, not a restaurant with a coffee machine.

The beans behind the counter

Our coffee is roasted in Belgium by our own roastery, CoffeeRoots, and it arrives in Dubai to be sold by weight and brewed at the counter. That is an unusual arrangement for a cafe, and it has one useful consequence for you: nothing in your cup is a mystery.

On the retail side of the same room you will find the beans we brew with, including Honduras Finca Monte Christo at AED 14 for 50 g, Kenya AA Superstar at AED 33, and Jamaica Blue Mountain at AED 89 for those who want to make one of the world’s most famous coffees properly at home.

Browse the full range of single-origin coffee and specialty coffee, or the dessert end of the catalogue in flavored coffee beans. Everything is sold whole or ground to your brewing method, so tell the team what machine you have at home and they will grind it correctly.

The other half of the room

We are a tea house as much as a coffee one, and the boutique carries more than 300 teas, coffees, infusions and accessories. While you wait for your drink, the shelves are worth a slow walk: classic tea from China, India and Sri Lanka, matcha from Japan, caffeine-free herbal blends, and Belgian hot chocolate for the cooler months.
